A bear was shot dead in kotagiri near ooty. The bear was shot, when it attacked the forest personnel trying to catch it live. The search for the bear started by the local police and the forest officials after the bear killed a woman. The bear was 4 years old and from the nearby forest. Locals were terrified by the presence of the bear in the area. Forest officials were trying to tranquilise the bear but the effort went in vain after it attacked the officials.
