Lawley Institute Ooty

Lawley Institute Ooty located in Garden Road is one of the landmarks of Ooty. It was formed in the year 1911 in the memory Sir Arthur Lawley, the Governor of Madras. The purpose of the institute is to provide accommodation to its members and their close acquaintances. Collector of the Nilgiris was selected as one of the trustees and he or she directed the normal gatherings of the Board of Trustees.This institute celebrated its centenary year in 2011. Now lawley institute has more than 1000 members across the country.
