The Sheep Breeding Research Station, Sandynallah of the Nilagiri district was established to improve the meat characteristics of Nilagiri sheep and to improve the wool yield and quality of Nilagiri sheep.It was established during the year 1950-51 and with the land area of 708.67 acres. Apart from sheep the research station has sections for rabbit, geese and fodder.
